Backstage News On Christian Cage’s Failed Cash-In

After several failed attempts to cash in his Casino Gauntlet contract, Christian Cage finally succeeded during the AEW Revolution main event.

He did so in the World Title match between Jon Moxley and Cope, turning the match into a three-way. Cage was ultimately unsuccessful as Moxley capitalized on the chaos, choking out Cage to retain the AEW World Title.

Following the show, some fans criticized the placement of the Moxley vs. Cope match as the main event and the decision to retain Moxley. Fightful Select reported that the AEW World Title match was always scheduled to close the show.

Fightful Select reports that the “AEW Revolution show ender was pitched to Christian Cage this week.” Cage earned the title opportunity courtesy of his win in the Casino Gauntlet at All In 2024.
