Backstage News on the AEW Returns of Miro and Thunder Rosa

Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured the returns of Miro and Thunder Rosa as both did backstage segments with Renee Pacquette.

For Miro, he was asked what brought him back to Dynamite, but he didn’t answer. Instead, he went into Tony Khan’s office.

Miro hasn’t wrestled regularly since 2021. In 2022, he only wrestled four times. The last time fans saw him in action was at All Out.

Regarding Rosa, she also did an interview and said tonight seemed to be a good night to talk with Khan before also going into his office.

Rosa relinquished the AEW Women’s World Title in November due to a back injury after missing a few months of action. She returned to the road with AEW to be part of the Spanish commentary team in February.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that the returns of Miro and Thunder Rosa as well as other wrestlers “incoming are directly tied to the debut of AEW Collision.”

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted Rosa is still dealing with a back injury.

“Miro doesn’t surprise me because he’s been on the shelf for a while and so he could be one of the new stars for the Saturday show [AEW Collision].

Then Rosa…Rosa’s back is really bad. I was kinda surprised. She’s been at the tapings every week [for Spanish commentary] and I know that when she’s trained in the ring… they showed one of them on All Access and granted that was months ago, but I’ve heard still, when she’s training, she’s hurting a lot. Her back is not better….they reintroduced her. I don’t know what the role would be. I didn’t get the impression she was ready to return so quickly,” Meltzer stated.
