Backstage News on What AEW Recently Told Talent About Brand Split

AEW is just a few weeks away from the launch of Collision on June 17 from Chicago, Illinois.

This new two-hour program will air every Saturday night. WrestleTix reported two days ago the show has 3,817 tickets sold with 1,751 remaining and is set up for 5,568 seats.

With the launch of a new show, changes are coming to AEW as there is expected to be a roster split, with CM Punk being the main star of Collision while Hangman Page, Jon Moxley, and The Elite will be on Dynamite. There will be some instances of talent appearing on the opposite show.

As reported on the day of the Collision announcement, talent had noted they were expecting to see “a hard brand split, with the exception of many AEW Champions.” However, there will be “additional exceptions here and there.”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that talent was told this past weekend that “Collision may start as a soft brand split, then develop into a harder one. They weren’t told anything specifically.”
