Backstage News On Status Of AEW Tag Team Amid WWE Interest

Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) have been on ice since losing the AEW tag team titles. Neither man has wrestled in AEW since January, and they have only wrestled once in HOG since then. However, throughout 2025, they’ve still managed to make major headlines.

First, the Wrestling Observer reported in the Summer that their contracts were up relatively soon. Shortly after, Fightful Select learned that WWE had maintained interest in them. Fans also noted their larger physiques.

According to Fightful, the change in their physique could be partially attributed to the Hurt Syndicate, who seemed to have taken a liking to Private Party. One of the teams that MVP made no secret he and the Syndicate wanted to work with again was Private Party. Sources indicated the Syndicate advised Private Party to spend more time in the gym to improve in their careers. Those familiar with the situation claimed that the Hurt Syndicate has been very helpful to them.

Regarding their contracts, Fightful Select is told they’re both still under contract, but that things could get foggy after that. It was implied that the two wrestlers have deals that don’t expire around the same time, or there’s at least the possibility they wouldn’t because of injury time.

Fightful hasn’t heard their preferences about staying with or leaving AEW. Private Party has yet to speak on their future with AEW.
