Backstage Reaction To Brutal Jon Moxley Spot On AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley, who was fresh off a successful AEW World Championship defense against Cope at the Revolution pay-per-view, once again put his title on the line in a rematch on Dynamite this past Wednesday.

This time, it was in a brutal street fight. The match lived up to its violent billing, featuring various weapons being used and one of the most horrific spots you will ever see in a wrestling match.

Cope introduced a spiked weapon into the fray. He first attacked Moxley’s ribs with the spikes and the back before proceeding to suplex him directly onto the spikes. Once Moxley rolled over, fans could see it became lodged in Moxley’s back.

Fightful Select report “the reaction to the Jon Moxley/spikes spot was wild. A lot of disbelief that this finally happened after over a decade of teasing that type of thing on wrestling TV.” The good news is that Moxley was said to be okay after the spot.

Moxley will defend the AEW World Heavyweight Title against Swerve Strickland next month at AEW Dynasty.
