AEW President Tony Khan announced in a post-Double or Nothing media scrum that AEW World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley will make his next title defense against Brian Cage at this show.
This comes after Cage made his promotional debut at Saturday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view event as he was revealed as the mystery competitor in the Casino Ladder Match. Cage won the contest and earned the right to a title match.
At this same show, Moxley successfully retained the strap against Brodie Lee in the co-main event when he made the former Luke Harper pass out with the rear-naked choke submission.
All Elite Wrestling has yet to announce a date for this show but it was noted that further details about it will be announced on Dynamite this week.
It turns out that the promotion originally wanted the show to take place in London, but those plans were nixed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The first Fyter Fest event took place last June and was headlined by Moxley defeating Joey Janela in an unsanctioned match.
