Bizarre Lawsuit Against AEW And Bryan Danielson Dismissed

Leland Owens’ lawsuit against AEW and Bryan Danielson has been dismissed.

He previously filed lawsuits against WWE and UFC in 2024 before filing a lawsuit against AEW and Danielson on December 13th, where he claimed there was “intellectual property infringement” and “theft” of his ideas, alleging he gave ideas to Bryan, including the AEW “Shockwave” name that AEW had trademarked. He claimed Shockwave was going to be titled “an Engage PPV or PLE.”

Owens noted he had suffered “emotional stress” and was seeking “a reasonable offer or the rights to all my ideas.” According to court documents obtained by PWInsider.com, the court dismissed it on December 26th, noting Owens failed “to allege any federal jurisdiction” but left the dismissal without prejudice.

The next day, Owens filed a lawsuit against the United States Government, alleging he gave the government film and television ideas and created “inventions” for the government but never got paid.

He listed Daniel Bryan, Mercedes Mone, Vince McMahon, and Donald Trump as being involved. He asks for “reasonable payments” and “credit for everything.”
