Bobby Lashley has nothing but praise for the talent roster inAEW, specifically highlighting names like Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay. Since joining the promotion, the former WWE Champion has witnessed firsthand the dedication and physical toll the style requires.
Lashley signed with AEW in 2024 and immediately entered a high-profile program with Swerve Strickland. The feud culminated in a match at Full Gear 2024, where Lashley defeated Strickland. Despite their on-screen rivalry, Lashley holds Strickland and his colleagues in high regard.
Commitment To The Craft
Speaking to the Mega Powers podcast during an interview from Forbidden Door weekend, Lashley discussed the intensity of the AEW locker room. He pointed to the number of injuries as a testament to how hard the wrestlers work, rather than a sign of negligence.
“These guys put their selves on the line,” Lashley said. “Just look at the amount of people that are injured right now and that are going to be injured. So you don’t get injured by doing something you don’t want to do. You get injured by doing something you pour your whole f**king life into, and you get injured.”
Identifying The Superstars
Lashley went on to list specific names he believes define the term “superstar” within the company. He credited their willingness to put their bodies on the line as a major draw for the fans.
“There’s people like Swerve,” he continued. “You all saw him, right? He’s a f**king star across the board. Will Ospreay, superstar. Kenny Omega, superstar. These guys, Darby Allin, every one of these, Moxley’s been killing it. Superstars, and they are putting their lives on the line. People are coming because of that. It’s crazy. So there is a learning curve that I’ve had to do because of coming over here.”
