Booker T to Reunite With AEW Wrestler Next Year

Next year will feature something that is rare in wrestling as two people from AEW and WWE will come together for some sort of reunion.

Booker T, current WWE NXT commenter, has been a successful singles and tag team star as he held Tag Team Titles in all major promotions that he worked for over the decades under the banner of several promotions. In the early 2000s, while working in WWE, he was part of a run with Dustin Rhodes, who portrayed The Goldust gimmick at the time, where they became World Tag Team Champions.

While speaking at a Q&A at For the Love of Wrestling that was uploaded to YouTube by Monopoly Events, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he’ll be doing a tour with the AEW wrestler in 2024.

“Me and Goldie (Goldust), I had a great time working with Goldust. It was a night off, like every night. We came out and performed because we were normally just coming out to do something stupid. That’s what wrestling is. You gotta be able to laugh at yourself. You gotta be able to make fun of yourself, and when it’s not fun, it’s time to check out and do something else, so those were some of my fondest times working with my man Goldie. We’re gonna be doing a tour next year too, so make sure you check it out,” Booker T stated.

Booker T was also asked when he thought he made the big jump from being a tag team star to a main event level singles wrestler despite his past achievements as World Heavyweight Champion in WCW.

“As singles wrestling goes, you know it’s one of those touchy moments because you know he’s not here. Chris Benoit, I wouldn’t be where I am as far as a wrestler as a performer if it wasn’t for the best of seven series [for the United States Title in 2004] that I did, and that’s when I really knew that I could actually do this on the next level. It was a great seven. Some of the greatest. You guys haven’t seen the best of seven series. You gotta check it out,” Booker T stated.
