Britt Baker: AEW Return Is ‘Not Up To Me’

Britt Baker has responded to a fan asking her to return to AEW, saying the decision is not in her hands. Baker has not appeared in AEW since November 2024.

At AEW Revolution at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, the event featured the returns of Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, and Will Ospreay, along with an appearance from Ronda Rousey. The wave of returns prompted one fan to call out Baker’s continued absence on social media, highlighting the contrast between wrestlers being brought back and Baker’s prolonged absence.

“We’ve had a return and debut after four different matches tonight but when there’s a return staring us in the face we don’t get it,” the fan wrote, tagging Baker directly and adding, “come home.”

Baker responded with two words. “Not up to me,” she wrote.

The response suggests Baker is willing to return but that a decision on her comeback rests with AEW management rather than with her directly. Tony Khan addressed the situation a few weeks prior, stating that he expects Baker to make a comeback at some point but stopped short of providing any specific timeline or details about what her return might look like.

Baker had been one of AEW’s top stars in the early portion of the promotion, having held the AEW Women’s World Championship. She helped establish the division’s credibility alongside talent such as Nyla Rose, Hikaru Shida, and Thunder Rosa.

Her absence since November 2024 has coincided with a period of significant change in AEW’s women’s division. Timeless Toni Storm has been a dominant force as AEW Women’s World Champion, while newer additions to the roster, such as Tekla, have also taken on prominent roles.
