Britt Baker is one of the biggest stars that AEW has right now and knows that if she ever did want to go to WWE then the company would be interested in signing her.
Baker’s boyfriend and fellow AEW star, Adam Cole previously stated that WWE inquired about Baker’s contract status when he was still in NXT. Baker did sign an extension with AEW last year so she will be under contract for the next few years.
The AEW Women’s Champion talked about WWE’s interest in her during a recent issue Inside The Ropes magazine. She made it clear that she doesn’t feel like she can trust anything that WWE says.
“I mean, exactly, I can’t disagree with you. They definitely expressed interest—unfortunately, I’ve got to pick and choose how I say this—but I just feel like you can’t trust anything with that company, whereas at AEW, I’ve never been promised anything that didn’t follow through. So it’s something that, unfortunately, it’s sad that it comes down to that, that it makes a company not really desirable because you can’t trust anything they say. And I know business is business, and I understand totally that’s what it is, but as a wrestler, business is business as well.”
Baker will team up with Cole for a mixed tag team match against Orange Cassidy and Kris Statlander on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.
