Bryan Danielson got physical in a wrestling ring for the first time since his retirement match last year. The moment occurred after the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam Mexico broadcast went off the air on Wednesday, June 18.
Danielson, who was in the country for the show, came out to save his wrestling idol, Blue Panther, from a post-match attack. After directing several other luchadors to the ring to help, Danielson entered the ring himself and delivered a Busaiku Knee to one of the heels to clear the ring.
This is a significant development, as Danielson has not been medically cleared to compete since his match against Jon Moxley at AEW WrestleDream in 2024. That match was billed as the end of his full-time career due to ongoing neck issues similar to those that forced his first retirement from WWE.
While Danielson has been working behind the scenes for AEW, his physical involvement in the post-show angle in Mexico City was a major surprise for the live crowd. There is currently no word on if his medical status has changed.
