Bryan Danielson on the Blackpool Combat Club: “This should be a group that never breaks up”

The Blackpool Combat Club (BCC) first started in 2022 with William Regal creating it and the name coming from Regal’s hometown of Blackpool in England. He served as the manager before he left AEW in November.

The group was originally a tag team consisting of Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley before it expanded to include Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Danielson shared his belief that the group should never break up, something rare in wrestling.

“I love this group,” says Danielson. “This should be a group that never breaks up. Mox and I have wrestled since the BCC started. We wrestled in the championship tournament [last fall]. That didn’t cause any disturbances in the BCC. That’s the story of the BCC. When the BCC loses, we’ll shake hands and go back to training the next day.”

Danielson finds himself on the sidelines after undergoing surgery for a broken arm. For the latest on his return timeframe, click here.
