Bryan Danielson Says His Wrestling Contract With AEW Expires Next Week

Tony Khan has been open about wanting to keep Bryan Danielson with AEW for the long run, as his full-time days in the ring are closing this year, and his contract expires in 2024.

AEW World Heavyweight Champion Swerve Strickland vs. Danielson is expected to headline the AEW All In event on Sunday, August 25. Danielson will continue to wrestle a handful of matches per year.

AEW shared a video after Dynamite featuring an extended version of Danielson’s promo on the show. In it, Danielson revealed that his wrestling deal with AEW was up next Thursday. He also has a separate deal as he works behind the scenes in creative for the promotion.

Danielson stated, “Yeah. That’s true. August 1st, actually. Next Thursday. My wrestling contract is up. Which also happens to be my son’s fourth birthday.”

Danielson continued by noting that he wasn’t going to use his contract as leverage like MJF to get more money. He would not do the MJF situation and try to get all the money.
