Chris Jericho files trademark for his “Painmaker” character

Chris Jericho has filed for a new trademark and it’s related to the “Painmaker” character he has portrayed in NJPW and AEW.

He filed to trademark the image of the character with the USPTO under Chris Irvine, Inc on December 6th. Here is the description:

“The mark consists of a full figure design of a character comprising a fedora, a leather jacket having spikes protruding therefrom, a scarf, and a painted face.

Mark For: This trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of downloadable image files containing trading cards, artwork, photos, or memes authenticated by non-fungible tokens (NFTs); Downloadable multimedia file containing artwork, text, audio, and video relating to trading cards, artwork, photos, or memes authenticated by non-fungible tokens (NFTs).”

Jericho first showed off the persona three years ago while working for NJPW. He most recently brought it back for a deathmatch with Nick Gage on an episode of AEW Dynamite.

The former AEW World Heavyweight Champion was recently hospitalized with a non-COVID-related issue but he has stated he is feeling good.
