Chris Jericho On Britt Baker: She’s A Very Valuable Part Of AEW. I Don’t See Her Leaving Or Going Anywhere

Chris Jericho has weighed in on the future of Britt Baker in AEW after she was in the headlines last week.

Wade Keller of the PWTorch first reported that Baker is in the same boat as others who are not being used by the promotion. The belief is that AEW CEO Tony Khan is fed up enough that he’s not using her, and should that change, she will get the call.

WrestleVotes previously noted those in WWE do not expect Baker to be available anytime soon and Baker is not expected back on AEW TV imminently. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Baker is not done with the company, but her future with the promotion is still uncertain as AEW opts not to use her.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful that Baker’s deal is believed to have a year and a half left. Jericho was asked about the reports while speaking to The Takedown on SI.

He said, “You would have to ask Britt that. I haven’t really heard either way, but I know she’s obviously a very valuable part of the company. She’s one of the OGs, probably one of our first homegrown stars, and I think she does a great job whenever she’s in the ring. So, I don’t see her leaving or going anywhere, and I’m looking forward to having her come back on the show because she has a great character and a great presence and, once again, a great fan base within AEW and within the wrestling world.”
