Chris Jericho Says a Match With Sting Will ‘Never Happen’ and He’s ‘Not Interested’

There’s a lot of talk about who will be Sting’s final opponent when Sting retires later this year.

Tony Khan has stated that he would love for Sting to stick around much longer but Sting has publicly said that he wants to hang up his boots in 2023. One match that fans have wondered about is Sting vs. Chris Jericho, potentially at All In London or All Out in Chicago. They never faced each other in WCW or WWE but fans on social media are clamoring for it. Jericho, in response to a fan on Twitter, says that the match will never happen and he’s “Not interested.”

In the past, Jericho has teased wanting to wrestle Sting and during a 2022 interview on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Jericho said the following about wrestling Sting: “Whenever there’s a Sting-Jericho match which there has to be because Sting and I have never been in the ring together ever, except for when Keith Mitchell retired and we had that after-ceremony. Never been in the same ring ever. Ever, ever, ever. There has to be a Sting and Jericho match in whatever way we decide it and that would be a great time for ‘Painmaker’.”

It seems like the tweet below might be a red herring and the match might still happen.
