As noted last night, Randy Orton acknowledged that he watched the Jake “The Snake” Roberts segment with Cody Rhodes from this week’s AEW Dynamite.
While some fans took it as Orton taking a shot at the company, it’s worth noting that the people involved in the segment are friends of Orton and his family. Cody and Randy are good friends dating back to their time in the Legacy faction and Randy’s father, Bob Orton, has known Jake for decades. Randy’s tweet is from a 2005 WWE Raw segment where Jake referenced his friendship with Bob Orton.
Chris Jericho saw Randy’s social media post from last night and replied, “What the hell am I wearing? And Thanks for watching #Dynamite my man! @AEWrestling“
If anything, Randy’s tweet will probably help get more eyeballs on AEW’s product. It will be interesting to see what the ratings look like later today after the buzz surrounding Jake’s promo and the fallout from the Revolution pay-per-view.
