Former AEW World Champion CM Punk made his first public appearance last night for Cage Fury Fighting Championships show that aired on UFC Fight Pass. Scroll down to see the video.
At the start of the broadcast, Punk joked about not being there to get into a fight, which seemed like a reference to the fight that occurred in September after the AEW All Out press conference.
Punk has not appeared on TV since winning the World Title match at All Out against Jon Moxley. The investigation into what occurred during the fight has been completed but Punk’s status with the company has not been addressed. Dave Meltzer reported that Punk’s camp and AEW have been in talks about a contract buyout.
No one from Punk’s side of AEW has commented publicly on the fight or the investigation. As seen in the last couple of episodes of Dynamite, it looks like The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega will be back on AEW TV soon. As for Punk, his days in the company appear to be over.
