CM Punk seems to be in good spirits and not bothered by the backstage issues he was involved with in AEW. Punk was back on commentary during tonight’s Cage Fury Fighting Championships broadcast on UFC Fight Pass and he joked about the backstage fight. He didn’t mention anyone by name but it was clear what he was talking about.
Punk’s injury was referenced and then Punk joked that “everything” is hurt and “my hand hurts.” After it was suggested that Punk join Fury Pro Wrestling, Punk joked that he was bad news and “you don’t want me in the locker room.”
Announcer John Morgan then joked that Punk shouldn’t be allowed to do press conferences.
Punk is still under contract with AEW but he and the company are reportedly in negotiations for a buyout and he is not expected to return. The Elite are returning to the ring this Saturday at Full Gear. It would be their first appearance since the fight that happened after the All Out media scrum.
