CM Punk Reportedly Not Looking to Sue AEW, Wants to Move on With His Life

CM Punk was released by AEW earlier this month after a physical altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In, but he is now ready to move on with his life.

After the altercation, Punk reportedly lunged at AEW President Tony Khan and said he quit the promotion. Khan stated that he felt his life was in danger during the situation.

Punk provided guest commentary at Friday’s Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) event, marking his first public appearance since being fired from AEW. He noted that he had a lot of free time on his hands.

Haus of Wrestling reported that Punk has no litigation pending against Khan after being released, which had been speculated about following the release. The report also noted that Punk is looking to avoid further litigation and move on with his life.

“Punk was described to me as someone breathing a sign of relief now that he is away from the day-to-day drama that seemed to follow him at AEW.” It’s unclear whether AEW and Khan are considering litigation against Punk.

Regarding a potential WWE return, it’s still unclear whether the company or Punk is interested in that. Still, Punk was reportedly open to it in December while on hiatus from AEW.

One source said the internal buzz about Punk as a potential free agent is not there like when Cody Rhodes was rumored to be on the market. Another source pointed out that WWE does not necessarily need a big-name signing because they have a hot product.

Multiple sources made it clear that they saw “WWE and Punk working together as a possibility if good business can be done.”
