There was a confrontation between CM Punk and MJF this week on AEW Dynamite. Punk ran out to the ring as MJF was about to wrestle Shawn Dean but MJF took off to the aisleway. Punk hit the GTS on Dean to cause MJF to lose via disqualification.
MJF mentioned the comparisons to Roddy Piper and said that Piper main evented a WrestleMania and Punk didn’t. MJF said that if he didn’t get the respect that he deserves then maybe he will main event a Mania too. Punk fired back and told MJF to go to the other side because he’ll be on a buy 1 get 4 free show and he’ll get released quickly.
Punk’s words: “If you think the grass is greener over there, go main event night 4 of a buy one get one extravaganza and get released.”
MJF then announced that next week on Dynamite it will be Punk vs. Wardlow. It definitely looks like they are setting up Punk vs. MJF for Revolution in early March.
