Cody Rhodes explains why the referee did not call for a DQ when Jon Moxley interfered in the AEW Dynamite main event

The fan reaction for the debut episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT was overwhelmingly positive.

However, the one thing that fans criticized about the main event of the show was the referee’s decision not to call for a disqualification when Jon Moxley entered the ring to attack Kenny Omega.

Cody Rhodes addressed this issue in a tweet. He noted how the Women’s World Championship match between Riho and Nyla Rose was unbelievable and then he addressed the issue with the interference in the main event.

Rhodes said that it was a blown call by the referee but the officials have discretion when making such calls. Rhodes indicated that a blown call like that would probably not happen again.

Rhodes’ tweet is in line with company plans to present a more sports-like product where things makes sense.
