Cody Rhodes on his role in AEW’s launch: “Without Brandi or I it wouldn’t exist”

Cody Rhodes was one of the key wrestlers in launching AEW including The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. They were the first stars to sign with the promotion that didn’t even have a television deal.

The former AEW star believes that the company wouldn’t exist without him. A fan recently tweeted how people seem to underestimate Rhodes’ importance in the creation of All Elite Wrestling.

In his response, he said that the facts are there for everyone to see:

“Facts are all out there to see…without Brandi or I it wouldn’t exist. Look no further than some of the infrastructure in place or even half the names of the events. Tony, Bucks, Kenny, Jericho, Dana, Hang…pioneers. I’ve moved on to the next stage for me, but beautiful memories.”

Rhodes left AEW earlier this year after his deal expired and returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38. He’s currently on the sidelines with a torn biceps injury that he suffered before his Hell in a Cell match with Seth Rollins.
