The second hour of AEW Dynamite closed out with an excellent TNT Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Scorpio Sky. Cody was accompanied to the ring by Arn Anderson and The Nightmare Family (Brandi Rhodes, Dustin Rhodes, QT Marshall, and Allie). Sky got a new entrance with a new theme. Former WWE referee Mike Chioda made his debut during this match.
There were several false finishes during this match including a moment when Sky kicked out after Cody delivered the Cross Rhodes. Cody was finally able to win the match after hitting a second Cross Rhodes.
After the match, Brodie Lee appeared on the big screen and announced that in 10 days on Saturday, August 22nd, he will take the TNT Championship from Cody.
The legendary referee Mike Chioda will be calling the action!
