Cody Rhodes has given his first comments about Sammy Guevara following his suspension from AEW.
Audio of comments made by Guevara during an interview on The Whole F’N Show back in January 2016 recently surfaced online. The AEW star recalled working as an extra for WWE at a TV taping in Texas and stated regarding Sasha Banks, “I wanted to just go f–king rape that woman.”
As a result, he was trending on social media. Since then, Guevara issued two statements and spoke further about how he’s changed since making those comments in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
He’s also apologized to Banks for the comments. AEW previously announced that they would be donating Guevara’s salary to the Women’s Center of Jacksonville, Florida in addition to him undergoing sensitivity training before his future with AEW will be re-evaluated. Guevara hasn’t been used on AEW television since the incident resurfaced.
AEW TNT Champion Cody Rhodes took to Twitter where he wrote the following about the AEW prospect:
“Sammy will return. And he will be a better professional wrestler, and a better man when he does.”
