Another huge match has been announced for the next All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view.
Rhodes as Jericho’s next opponent makes sense because Rhodes has yet to lose a singles match in AEW and the company is stressing the importance of win/loss records to determine World Title challengers.
Rhodes defeated his brother Dustin at the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in May. He went to a draw with Darby Allin at the Fyter Fest show in July and he defeated Shawn Spears on Saturday night at All Out in Chicago.
Tony Khan said to Sports Illustrated, “Cody’s outstanding record in singles competition has secured him the number one contender ranking, and he will be challenging AEW world champion Chris Jericho in the first ever pay-per-view defense of the championship on November 9 in Baltimore at Full Gear.”
There were also signs of tension between Rhodes and Jericho back in May on the AEW YouTube channel.
The next time fans will have a chance to see Rhodes and Jericho on TV will be on the TNT debut show on October 2nd from Washington, DC.
