Darby Allin recently shared high praise for fellow AEW star Brody King in a feature story by Jay Reddick of the Orlando Sentinel. Allin, a former two-time TNT Champion, expressed his belief that King’s presence in the company was long overdue. King officially joined AEW in 2022 after previously working with Ring of Honor.
Allin shared his respect for King’s relentless approach to the business. “He’s a guy who I thought should have been in AEW from year one,” Allin said. “He understands that there’s no phoning it in, no taking it easy. Every night he goes out there, he performs literally to his limit, and it’s cool to see that he’s finally taking off”.
The two wrestlers share a storied history in the ring, having competed in numerous high-intensity matches, including a Coffin Match in August 2022. King, who spent several years as a powerhouse for the House of Black, has recently found success as a singles competitor. He made a name for himself as the “roadblock giant” during the Continental Classic and continues to be a featured part of the roster.
Current plans for both stars involve roles heading into the Maximum Carnage event on January 14 in Phoenix. Allin is currently focused on his crusade against the Death Riders and is scheduled to face PAC at the upcoming show.
As of today, Brody King is coming off a quick victory over Barrett Brown on the January 10 episode of AEW Collision in Arlington, Texas. Following the match, he was joined by his “Brodido” partner and ROH World Champion, Bandido, who is set to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship next week.
