Dax Harwood of FTR has raised the stakes for this weekend’s AEW All Out pay-per-view, vowing in a new social media post that he will end his career if he and his partner, Cash Wheeler, lose their match against the reunited team of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.
The feud began several months ago when FTR attacked Adam Copeland, hitting him with a con-chair-to and putting him on the shelf for several weeks. In the interim, Copeland’s longtime friend, Christian Cage, was himself turned on by his own faction, The Patriarchy. This led to the reunion of the team formerly known as Edge and Christian, who came together to solve each other’s problems. After dealing with The Patriarchy, their focus has now shifted to FTR.
In a post on his social media on Monday, Dax Harwood responded to a fan who asked what would happen if FTR were to lose their match at All Out this coming weekend. Harwood’s response was a simple and direct: if FTR does not come out on top in their battle with the seven-time tag team champions, he will hang up his boots for good.
FTR has been a cornerstone of AEW’s tag team division since their arrival in the company. They are multi-time AEW and ROH World Tag Team Champions and have been a part of some of the most praised matches in the company’s history. The pay-per-view will take place this Saturday, September 20, from Toronto, Canada.
I’ll retire from being an in-ring competitor
