DDP thinks AEW launch is closest wrestling has been to Monday Night War

There are some high expectations for the newly launched AEW promotion with fans around the world projecting what it could be. That includes WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page, who has been a big supporter of now only All Elite Wrestling but Cody and The Young Bucks as he understands the importance of having competition within the world of pro wrestling.

While doing a recent interview with Wrestling Inc, DDP praised what the Cody is doing with All Elite Wrestling alongside with The Young Bucks and AEW President Tony Khan. He also described the energy in the room at All In.

“It’s f***ing amazing,” said DDP. “I’m about to put an interview out with him – the last two years we’ve filmed me talking to Cody of what happened last year. Last year he came light years from leaving the WWE and this year it’s like warp speed. He’s like my nephew and I’m enjoying watching it. It’s amazing.”

The All In event that was presented by Cody and The Young Bucks took place on September 1, 2018, at the Sears Centre in Chicago, Illinois in front over 10,000 fans in attendance and aired live on traditional PPV outlets, Fite TV and Ring of Honor’s streaming service, Honor Club.

“Insane,” Page said of All In. “That crowd of people…if they can, at Double or Nothing, recreate that, who knows where the f*** it’s gonna go? I want him to have the greatest success ever.”

In fact, DDP is so excited about the launch of the promotion that he feels like a proud uncle of Cody and thinks that there is a real possibility that we are the verge of another Monday Night Wars.

“It’s the closest it’s ever been [to the Monday Night Wars era]… Gotta see what’s gonna happen,” stated Page.
