Grizzled Young Veterans, also known as Grizzled Young Vets, consist of James Drake and Zack Gibson. Months after working their first match under the AEW banner, they are still working independent dates.
The tag team joined WWE in 2018, becoming the inaugural UK Tag Team Champions before departing on their own terms in 2023. They went to TNA Wrestling before departing and announced plans to start their own promotion.
The former WWE tag team worked a match, putting over FTR on an April Collision episode. Following that show, there was speculation as to whether the promotion would sign the tag team.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported in a Q&A that the tag team hasn’t signed with AEW. The last he heard, they were far apart on money.
Sapp stated, “Grizzled Young Vets are the big ones. I know they were far apart on money.” No other details were provided.
