Willie Mack has clarified that he remains with AEW despite a pair of frustrated tweets that led to widespread reports suggesting he had departed the company. Mack posted on social media Tuesday night expressing his frustration about his lack of use in the promotion.
“When ya boy is about to become a homeless superhero because the booker doesn’t think he’s worth the money,” Mack wrote, using the hashtag WhereTheBestWrestle. He followed that up with another post painting a picture of just how long the situation has been going on. “It’s like for two years straight I’d call every week and ask if you got anything for me? You signed right? You still getting paid right? I want to wrestle.”
The tweets were widely interpreted as a sign that Mack had left AEW, leading to reports of his departure. Mack responded directly to an article covering the situation with a simple correction. “Wrong, still there,” he wrote. He also pushed back against a fan who suggested he was only on a per-appearance deal rather than a full AEW contract, telling that person they were wrong as well.
Mack’s social media posts paint a picture of a contracted talent who has been unable to get consistent bookings while remaining under the AEW umbrella. During his time with the company, he has wrestled sporadically, with most of his matches coming on ROH programming. His most recent appearance was an ROH match in December 2025 in which he and Aaron Solo fell to Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia.
Despite his AEW contract, Mack has remained active on the independent circuit, working outside dates and maintaining a regular presence for Juggalo Championship Wrestling. He has held titles for Lucha Underground, TNA, NWA, and JCW across his career and was a regular for PWG earlier in his run.
His situation stands in contrast to Lady Frost, whose AEW contract officially expired on April 1, making her a confirmed free agent with multiple companies reportedly already interested in signing her. Mack last wrestled for AEW in March 2025.
