The AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event is set for November 6th from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. However, it will go up against strong competition on this night.
UFC 268 will take place on this date at the Madison Square Garden. The card will feature the rematch between Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington. Also, Canelo Alvarez vs. Caleb Plant from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada will take place on this date. Both events will air on pay-per-view.
Many believed that AEW would move Full Gear to a different date to go up against lesser competition. That’s not the case as Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the plan is still for Full Gear to take place on November 6.
Not only will AEW have to go up against that tough competition, but they will be bumped to the third slot instead of the first PPV slot on most PPV providers. Meltzer noted it’s probably the worst night for an AEW PPV show in its history and it would make sense for AEW to move the show back to November 13. If AEW did that then they would have to rearrange the schedule since tickets have been sold for the show and also book new venues for Dynamite and Rampage that week.
AEW’s next pay-per-view event, All Out, will take place this Sunday night from Chicago, IL at the NOW Arena.
