The AEW Women’s World Championship match between Dr. Britt Baker, DMD and Red Velvet closed out the first episode of AEW Rampage. Baker got a monster reaction from her hometown fans in Pittsburgh, PA.
Rebel was tossed out from the ringside area because she interfered during the commercial break. Velvet almost won the match after hitting a kick to the face and a moonsault off the top but Baker came back with a shoulder breaker into a pin attempt and then a curb stomp into another near fall.
Velvet tried to apply the Lock Jaw on Baker but Baker countered into a Lock Jaw of her own to force Velvet to submit.
Baker attacked Velvet after the match but Kris Statlander ran in to make the save. Jamie Hayter, with a new look, ran in to provide back up for Baker and to attack Velvet and Statlander.
