Beyond his appreciation for AEW President Tony Khan’s management style, Josh Alexander revealed that the prospect of dream matches and a locker room filled with familiar colleagues significantly influenced his decision to join All Elite Wrestling.
Speaking on SHAK Wrestling, Alexander highlighted the personal connections within AEW. “It’s that this locker room is full of people that I’ve known and worked with over the past 20 years, and I’ve developed relationships,” he said, emphasizing the comfort and camaraderie this offered.
Furthermore, the opportunity to face legendary and highly respected opponents was a major draw. “There’s people like Edge, Chris Jericho, and Kenny Omega in this company that I have never wrestled that I’ve dreamed of wrestling for decades,” Alexander stated.
He concluded that these combined factors—a supportive boss, a familiar locker room, and the chance for long-desired matchups— “all made it very easy for me to make my decision” to sign with AEW over other potential opportunities, including WWE. His past positive working relationship and trust developed with Scott D’Amore in TNA also shaped his desire for a similar environment.
