Dustin Rhodes spoke with the New York Post to promote the AEW Revolution pay per view from Chicago where he’ll battle Jake Hager, which marks the in-ring debut under the AEW banner for the former WWE star.
During the interview, he was asked about AEW possibly signing Luke Harper and Matt Hardy.
First up is Harper, who has been reported to be heading to the promotion once his non-compete with WWE expires.
Last month, Dave Meltzer reported that Harper is slated to sign a contract with AEW that will likely see him make his television debut soon. To find out the exact date that he could appear, click here.
“I think they’d bring creativity. Harper, man, is incredible. I’ve worked with him many times with the Wyatt Family, me and Cody did, and he knows his stuff and he’s not a greenhorn in the business. He can help people. He can take them to new highs and he can get them there and at the same time get himself over in a company that will allow him to do so.”
Regarding Hardy, his contract with WWE is slated to expire on March 1st and he hasn’t signed a new deal as of this writing. The belief although not confirmed by the promotion is that he’s also headed to AEW.
“Matt Hardy, if he comes in here, my God, he’s been through so many different variations on YouTube and things like that with WWE. He’s so creative in all the things that he does that when we do it with him, it’s gonna touch gold.”
