Dustin Rhodes Sets The Record Straight On His AEW Contract Status

At a time when his brother Cody Rhodes is on top of the world in WWE as the Undisputed WWE Champion, Dustin Rhodes, aka Goldust, is still going strong in AEW.

Dustin made his professional debut in September of 1988. He had multiple stints with WWE from 1995 to 2019 and worked for TNA Wrestling and WCW throughout his professional wrestling career. While in WCW, Rhodes won the World Tag Team Championship twice, the Six-Man Tag Team Championship once, and the United States Heavyweight Championship twice.

In WWE, he won the Intercontinental Championship three times, the Hardcore Championship nine times, the World Tag Team Championship once, and the WWE Tag Team Championship twice. He joined AEW in 2019 and has been a player/coach for the promotion.

Although Dustin’s deal with AEW is slated to expire soon, the longtime veteran dismissed one rumor about his wrestling status, noting that he’s not done just yet in the ring.

“Wrong! Jeeze guys, do better. Yes my contract is up in September, and No, I am absolutely NOT DONE. Having the best matches of my life and hopefully, God willing I will get to retire on my own terms, respected with a full heart. Hopefully Negotiations go well because I am damn worth the world.

The only things that matter to me are: taking care of my family first and foremost, and finishing up when I am ready, and how I envision my retirement. So hold off guys, This biz is my life and I love doing it for you, while still having fun and able. #KeepSteppin and thank you all for your continued love and support!”
