Eddie Kingston answered Cody Rhodes open challenge for the TNT Championship this week on AEW Dynamite.
Kingston is the name that Tony Khan talked about on Twitter when he said that a “top independent wrestler” would be appearing on the show this week.
The match included a spot where Kingston powerbombed Rhodes’ back onto thumbtacks that were poured in the ring. Rhodes was barely able to squeeze out a win by forcing Kingston to submit to the figure four.
Kingston is considered to be one of the biggest names to never get a shot in WWE. He has won championships in several promotions including Jersey All Pro Wrestling, CZW, and Evolve. Kinston worked for Impact Wrestling as recently as 2018 and Billy Corgan’s NWA.
