Eddie Kingston Pulled From AEW Dynamite Due To Severe Migraines

AEW star Eddie Kingston will be absent from tonight’s AEW Dynamite taping in Denver, Colorado, and has officially pulled out of multiple independent wrestling events scheduled for this weekend. The cancelations are due to a medical situation that requires Kingston to remain off the road.

As noted by PWInsider, Kingston has been dealing with severe migraine headaches and is currently taking time off to tend to his health. No specific timeline was provided regarding his return to All Elite Wrestling programming or the independent wrestling circuit.

Kingston was originally scheduled to compete at Beyond Wrestling’s “Ballroom Blitz” event on Friday, February 27, in Cranston, Rhode Island. The card featured Kingston teaming with his longtime associate Ortiz to face the team of Love Doug and TJ Crawford. Furthermore, Kingston was booked to wrestle for Pro Wrestling Junkie on Sunday, March 1, in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, where he was set to compete in a singles match against Tracy Williams. Both Beyond Wrestling and PWJ have acknowledged his medical absence and are moving forward with adjusted lineups for their respective events.

In November 2025, Kingston announced via social media that he is in the midst of his final run on the independent wrestling scene. He stated that he would begin limiting his outside bookings to just one independent show per month. He explicitly noted his timeline, stating that by next November he is “done with the indies and yeah nothing more too it.”

Within AEW, Kingston returned to active competition following a lengthy rehabilitation for a torn pectoral muscle. Prior to the injury, Kingston became the inaugural AEW Continental Champion. He won the first Continental Classic tournament by defeating Jon Moxley at the Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023, simultaneously holding the ROH World Championship and the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship as the unified Continental Crown.

Following his return from the pectoral tear, Kingston immediately targeted the top of the roster. Late last year, he secured a victory over Katsuyori Shibata on AEW Collision, which earned him a shot at the AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe at the “Winter is Coming” special in December 2025.

Outside of active competition, Kingston is currently working with Ortiz to establish a new professional wrestling school. In January 2026, Ortiz confirmed the project, explaining that the goal is to pass on the knowledge they received from their own mentors in the business. The two have been hosting training seminars on the independent circuit as they prepare for the facility’s opening.

Best wishes to Kingston and we hope he starts to feel better soon.
