Eddie Kingston Signs New AEW Contract

Eddie Kingston will stay around AEW for years to come after inking a new deal.

Kingston originally signed with AEW in July 2020 after he answered Cody Rhodes’ open challenge for the AEW TNT Title. He’s considered one of the best talkers in wrestling today.

Kingston has been a fan favorite since he arrived in AEW, where he has had some notable feuds with Jon Moxley, CM Punk, and Chris Jericho. Kingston has shifted his time between AEW, ROH, and NJPW over the last year.

On last Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, Kingston won the ROH World Title from Claudio Castagnoli at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam while retaining the NJPW Strong Openweight Title in a title vs. title match.

The AEW star recently announced that he would take a break from independent bookings because he has a lower back injury.

While speaking on AdFreeShows, Kingston revealed he signed a new contract with AEW, a four-year deal. Kingston did not say when he signed his new deal nor the financial aspect of the deal.

“This is why I love AEW. That’s why if you notice, you haven’t heard anything about me with contracts because I did my sh*t on the low. My thing was coming up. I got four more years, so I’m straight. No one needs to know how much. No one needs to know how long. I got my fu**ing shit. I got my sh*t and I’m gonna be there for a minute because there’s nowhere else I want to be.”

Kingston also talked about Tony Khan working with the talent’s creative ideas and more. You can check out a recap of the interview here
