AEW star Eddie Kingston wrote an excellent article for The Player's Tribune.
Kingston talked about his early life and his rough childhood and then falling in love with professional wrestling after watching Memphis wrestling tapes. Kingston then talked about discovering ECW on a religious channel in New York before eventually getting into the wrestling business and struggling for many years to make ends meet.
Kingston noted that he was selling his gear last year in order to keep up with his mortgage and he was about to move back in with his mother but things turned around for him and a promo at an independent show went viral and that led to him signing with AEW.
There's a lot to read in the article and it's worth spending some time reading the entire thing.
