Eric Bischoff did a recent interview with Chris Featherstone of SportsKeeda where he discussed a wide range of topics.
During the interview, Bischoff was asked about AEW, but also gave his take on AEW seeing its viewership numbers for Dynamite rebounding to where they were before the COVID-19 era.
Bischoff stated that it’s pretty exciting as we’re in the COVID-19 era and there’s nothing growing an audience in terms of sports entertainment.
“Nobody except for AEW is starting to show real signs of life. They’re knocking on a million viewers again, which is not far off from where they were when they’d debuted. So that’s a really good sign.”
Bischoff then switched to WWE and brought up how Monday Night Raw numbers have fallen while SmackDown has been steady.
“I think the fact that SmackDown hasn’t fallen farther than it has, it’s not gonna sound like anything to cheer about. I think that’s a good sign. I think that they’ve stabilized, they’re still delivering over two million, they’re still right up there in the key demos, they’re more than treading water in that regard.
The only one that seems to be suffering now badly is Raw. To see AEW actually not holding steady like SmackDown and not dropping like a rock like Raw has gotta be interpreted as a good thing.”
Bischoff also talked about John Cena, Sting’s WWE run, and more. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below:
