Former AEW Coach Sarah Stock Criticizes WrestleDream “Attempted Murder” Spot

Former AEW coach and producer Sarah Stock has criticized a prominent spot from the main event of Saturday’s AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view. Stock warned that the angle could lead to imitation by children.

The “I Quit” match between Jon Moxley and Darby Allin concluded the show. In the final sequence, Moxley and his allies, the Death Riders, brought an aquarium tank into the ring and filled it with water. Moxley was then shown forcibly holding Allin’s head underwater.

Stock, who also wrestled as Sarita and Dark Angel, reacted to the spot, highlighting the danger of presenting such an act without context. She wrote, “Yes. Anytime I see attempted murder in wrestling without a disclaimer, regardless of the company, my opinion remains the same: it’s dumb.”

The aquarium spot was directly linked to the finish of the match. While Moxley held Allin submerged, the arena lights went out. When they returned, Sting was in the ring. Sting attacked the Death Riders and used his baseball bat to shatter the glass of the tank. This interference allowed Allin to recover and subsequently force Moxley to quit.

Sarah Stock, who worked as a performer under the names of Sarita and Dark Angel, joined AEW as a coach and producer in March 2023. She previously held a similar position in WWE, where she worked from 2015 until 2020.
