Former TNA Champion Makes Surprise AEW Debut, Signs With Company

Former multi-time TNA X-Division and Tag Team Champion Ace Austin is now All Elite. The 28-year-old star made his surprise debut for the company during last night’s AEW Collision taping in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Ace Austin’s Surprise AEW Debut

According to spoilers from the taping, which will air this Saturday, August 16, Ace Austin appeared as the surprise opponent for Ricochet. Following the match, which Ricochet won, AEW President Tony Khan came out to the stage to officially announce that Austin has signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling.

A Top Free Agent Signing For Austin

In May, it was revealed that he was leaving TNA Wrestling after a nearly seven-year run with the company, where he became a three-time X-Division Champion and a three-time Tag Team Champion with his partner, Chris Bey.

Since his TNA deal expired, Austin has been active on the independent circuit, competing for promotions like Pro Wrestling Revolver and RevPro. He is the latest former TNA star to sign with AEW in 2025, joining the likes of Josh Alexander and “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

The news of Ace Austin’s signing adds another top talent to the already stacked AEW roster. His debut match against Ricochet will air on this Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, which begins at 8 p.m. ET on TNT. The full results from the Collision taping can be found here.
