UPDATE: PWInsider reports that Bailey is not planned for the tournament. Bailey’s TNA deal expired on 11/1.
ORIGINAL: This year’s AEW Continental Classic will begin with the November 27, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite and conclude with the Worlds End pay-per-view event on December 28, 2024. A notable name will participate in the tournament.
The bouts are contested under a twenty-minute time limit. Since he won the tournament last year and is the Continental Champion, Kazuchika Okada has been awarded automatic entry into the tournament.
PWInsider.com reports the belief within AEW is that “Speedball” Mike Bailey will debut as part of the Continental Classic. Fightful Select first reported that Bailey’s contract expired on November 1 with the belief that he’s AEW-bound.
He was at an AEW show earlier this year visiting friends. As of this writing, it’s unclear exactly when he will make his AEW debut.
