Former WCW Star Confirms AEW Role

Former WCW star Glacier has opened up about his current backstage role in All Elite Wrestling, expressing his gratitude and passion for the opportunity to work as a coach and mentor for the company.

Glacier On His Coaching Role In AEW

Speaking on a new episode of the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Glacier confirmed reports that he has been working backstage for about a year. He explained that the opportunity came about after conversations with QT Marshall and Sonjay Dutt.

“I said, ‘If there’s ever an opening for a coaching position, you know how much I love coaching and teaching and mentoring,’ and so the conversation started and then eventually, I end up talking to Sonjay — Sonjay Dutt… We start talking and put the wheels in motion,” Glacier said.

‘I Absolutely Love Going To Work’

Glacier was effusive in his praise for the company and the role, stating that he feels fortunate to be involved with wrestling at this level again after being away for some time.

“I don’t know if I can put it into words how much I absolutely love going to work and doing this because I love being around wrestling, I love being around the next generation and anything that I can do to help in any way, I’m gladly willing to do so,” he stated. “I’m a very, very fortunate person and I don’t take it for granted at all.”

As a coach, Glacier is helping to guide a roster full of young talent in AEW. Wrestlers like Darby Allin, HOOK, and rising stars in the women’s division, such as Billie Starkz, are all part of the “next generation” that Glacier expressed his excitement to be working with.
