Former WWE NXT star comments on upcoming AEW Dark appearance

On Friday, All Elite Wrestling released the card for next Tuesday’s episode of AEW Dark.

This is where it was revealed that Rachael Ellering, who worked as Rachael Evers at different times in WWE NXT, will make her promotional debut when she wrestles Penelope Ford in a singles match.

After the news was made, Ellering took to her official Twitter account to comment on the appearance. She wrote the following:

“Oh y’all forgot about me? Next week is the first step in reproving myself. Proving that just because I was hidden away in a warehouse for a hot minute doesn’t mean I’ve lost what I had before. I can’t wait to earn back your support and trust. Let’s start the next chapter.”

Ellering was under contract with WWE from 2016–2020. During her time with the company, she worked the 2017 Mae Young Classic. In this tournament, she beat Marti Belle in a first round match, but was eliminated from the tournament in the second round by Abbey Laith.

She also worked the 2018 tournament and lost to Hiroyo Matsumoto in the opening round. She was released from WWE earlier this year due to budget cuts.

Here is what has been announced for Dark:

Private Party vs. Griff Garrison & Brian Pillman Jr.
Penelope Ford (w/Kip Sabian) vs. Rachael Ellering
SCU vs. The Butcher & The Blade
Shawn Spears (w/Tully Blanchard) vs. Alex Chamberlain
