Former WWE Star Made His AEW Debut Before Dynamite

Thomas Pestock, known professionally as Bishop Dyer and formerly as Baron Corbin in WWE, competed in an All Elite Wrestling ring for the first time prior to tonight’s live broadcast of Dynamite.

Pestock participated in an eight-man tag team dark match before the show went on the air. He teamed with Martin Stone and the tag team known as Better Together (Hadar Horvitz and Ori Gold). The quartet faced the team of Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn, Brady Booker, and Elijah Drago. The match concluded with a victory for the team of Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn, Booker, and Drago.

Post-WWE Career and Identity

Following the expiration of his WWE contract in November 2024, Pestock adopted the ring name Bishop Dyer. He also utilizes the moniker “The Nomad,” a reference to his previous “Lone Wolf” character. Since his departure, his career developments include:

  • Major League Wrestling (MLW): Dyer is currently signed to MLW. He debuted at Battle Riot VII in April 2025 and currently holds the MLW World Tag Team Championship alongside Donovan Dijak.
  • Independent Circuit: Pestock made his debut for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) in January 2025, competing in a Bloodsport match against Josh Barnett. He also challenged for the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship at a Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling event in March.
  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Pestock actively competes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. He won gold medals at the IBJJF Tampa International Open in 2024 and 2025, as well as the 2025 IBJJF Pan Championship.

WWE Tenure

Pestock signed with WWE in 2012 and remained with the promotion for twelve years. He began his career in NXT before debuting on the main roster at WrestleMania 32, where he won the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

During his time with WWE, Pestock held the United States Championship and won the 2017 Money in the Bank ladder match. His career included various character iterations, such as the authority figure “Constable” Corbin, the 2019 King of the Ring winner “King” Corbin, and “Happy” Corbin.

Pestock returned to the NXT brand in 2023. During this final run, he formed a tag team with Bron Breakker. The duo won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament and the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Prior to professional wrestling, Pestock was a two-time Golden Gloves regional amateur boxing champion. He played college football as an offensive guard for Northwest Missouri State University, starting in the Division II National Championship game four consecutive times. He later signed with the Indianapolis Colts and the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL.
