Former WWE Star Provided the Voice for Adam Copeland’s Theme Introduction at AEW WrestleDream

Adam Copeland, formerly known as Edge, made his promotional debut at Sunday’s AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view event when making the save for Darby Allin and Sting following an attack by Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne.

The WWE Hall of Famer had his iconic theme song from WWE and was able to use the “Rated-R Superstar” nickname as the trademark rights to the nickname had lapsed. The reason he could use the Metalingus from Alter Bridge is due to him being friends with the band and them allowing him to use it.

He has signed a full-time deal and is slated to wrestle often across all of AEW’s programming. He’ll do a promo this week on Dynamite before working his first match under the AEW banner on next week’s Tuesday edition of Dynamite when he will face Luchasaurus.

Chris Mueller of Bleacher Report noted on Twitter that he confirmed the voice at the start of Copeland’s theme song is that of his wife, Beth Phoenix. They recorded the soundbite themselves.

“I don’t know if this counts as breaking news or whatever, but I was able to confirm with him today that not only is the voice at the beginning of Adam Copeland’s AEW entrance music that of Beth Phoenix, but that it was Edge and Beth who recorded the clip themselves.”
