Former WWE Star Has Reportedly Been Under Contract With AEW For Months

Former WWE star Ashante “Thee” Adonis, now competing under his real name Tehuti Miles, has officially signed with AEW. According to a report from Fightful Select, the 36-year-old has actually been under contract for six months, having quietly signed with the promotion during the first week of September 2025.

Miles made his surprise debut on Sunday, March 1, 2026, during the Ring of Honor (ROH) television tapings at WJCT Studios in Jacksonville, Florida. The appearance marks his first televised match since June 2024, when he lost a singles bout to Ricky Saints on WWE NXT.

Departure from WWE

Miles’ second stint with WWE concluded on August 10, 2025, when his contract officially expired. At the time, he shared a message of gratitude on social media, expressing his readiness for a “new beginning.”

“After 6 unforgettable years under the WWE lights, the time has come for me to close that chapter. I’m filled with nothing but gratitude for every opportunity… I’m truly excited to show the world what I can really do. Sometimes you gotta get off multiplayer and progress your story mode,” Miles wrote.

Hit Row History

Signing with WWE in 2019, Miles became a prominent fixture of the NXT and 205 Live brands before joining the faction Hit Row in 2021. Alongside Swerve Strickland (then Isaiah “Swerve” Scott), A.J. Francis (Top Dolla), and B-Fab, the group was called up to SmackDown in late 2021 before being released shortly after.

Miles returned to WWE in August 2022 under the Paul “Triple H” Levesque regime, though the group struggled to regain its initial momentum without Strickland, who had already signed with AEW. Following his release, Miles now joins his former stablemate Strickland in the AEW/ROH ecosystem.
